Meet The De-Lovely's

Louisa Hezseltine

Louisa

Louisa, based in Ayrshire, Scotland, is a member of the Largs Players, Largs Operatics and the Attic Players. Having played the principle role of Snow White, among others, she is by no means a shrinking violet when it comes to the stage, singing her first solo 1940's song (a bicycle built for two) at the tender age of nine! Louisa's musical influences include a mix of both modern musicals and those of the MGM genre, with Judy Garland being a key figure in Louisa's musical tastes. Louisa is currently learning Egyptian Belly Dancing, having prior training in tap and ballet. Other than singing and dancing, Louisa has been known to break into lively renditions of 'la cocaracha' on the eukelele! Louisa was recently taking part in the Largs Players' pantomime production of 'Cinderella'.

Jennifer Murray

Jennifer

Based in Glasgow, Scotland, Jennifer is a huge fan of anything 'vintage'. Having an interest in MGM style musicals from a young age, Jennifer lengthened her musical tastes to encompass jazz, barbershop, swing and more recently the traditional vaudeville numbers, showcased by such hollywood greats as Fred Astaire and Judy Garland, to name but a few. Other than singing, Jennifer's musical tastes involve playing the harmonica and guitar. Jennifer is also a keen dress maker, with some of The De-Lovely's wardrobe being her own creations (see the Gallery for some of her designs!). Like Louisa, Jennifer takes Egyptian Belly Dancing casses, but considers herself best suited to the Charleston!! Jennifer will be taking part in this year’s Race for Life: you can sponsor her at http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/jennifermurray.

Both Jennifer and Louisa love travelling, with Louisa favouring 'westernised' locations (especially California!) and Jennifer tending to prefer exotic locations, such as Sabah, Borneo. However, the two De-Lovely's agree that no matter where in the world they may be, a little Golden Era charm won't go amiss!
