The De-Lovely's are keen on promoting the old fashioned form of entertainment known as Vaudeville. Vaudeville is a traditional form of musical entertainment, originated in America, which is similar to the 'variety' stage shows we have here in Britain. From Victorian times right through to the 1930's, stars, such as Judy Garland, Fred Astaire and The Marx Brothers toured theatres, entertainig audiences young and old. With the widespread introduction of moving pictures and television, this form of entertainment lost its widespread appeal - it was cheaper to see a picture than a show!
